Butterfly Lines - a collection of love poems and short stories

Coffin for the living.

Gift of love
born from my womb
perfectly created
part of my soul
my flesh and blood
my dearest child.

Once burning in your eyes
were flames of life.

But now,
instead of happiness,
from the darkness of your dying eyes,
destitution.

Replacing your warm body,
reaching out for my embrace,
a mere skeleton.

Substituting the laughing child
speaking in a language foreign to me
an alien.

In place of a lively person
now, walking the streets aimlessly
a living carrion.

My grief is endless.

The globe and straw
led you astray.
Tik
and it’s accomplices
took my child away.

You are still breathing
yet barely alive
and all I can do is pray.
My sweet angel
I see you in a coffin
every moment of the day.

Butterfly.
