The walk of life brought me here
Tucked away in my own little world
Far from the known
Apart from the loved
Only me, my God
And those who now merely exist.
Just us,
The forgotten, the grey, the old.
A few summers left to warm my days
How many winters, who can say
I treasure the autumns
Enjoy the fall
And like the ones I’ve lived for
They all come and go
And leave me
with memories of yesterday.
Failures, successes all left behind
Before me the end is in sight
Time’s not a factor
Wisely and well
I’ve spent it all
Each second, every minute or hour
I’m granted
I will grasp and hold on tight.
No time to remember heartache and tears
I now relive the days long gone
Laughter and joy
Loved ones and friends
A fruitful life
Peacefully my heart and soul awaits;
I’m ready
To be with my Father, Saviour and Lord.
