For God so loved this world
He sacrificed
The only Son that He would ever have.
A love so perfect and so pure
Immeasurable, divine.
Why should I wallow then in pity
Because the one I love
Far more than life itself
Cannot be mine?
Should I not protect this treasure
Let it in my heart remain,
Preserve this miracle
Leave it unspoiled, unstained?
I will be then contented
To hear your voice,
And to behold your face.
Your presence, that is will be my prize.
Never to love you as I wish
Forfeiting the wonder of my perfect love
That is my greatest sacrifice.
Butterfly.
